The saga of the kinked skimmer pipe has come to a triumphant end! 🎉 The skimmer is now fully operational, and the pool is clean and ready for the imminent return of its owners. 🏊‍♂️✨

Completing this project required meticulous attention and hard work, especially since we chose to dig the trench for the skimmer by hand rather than using an excavator. This decision paid off in multiple ways:

Firstly, removing the grass by hand meant we disturbed much less of the lawn compared to what an excavator bucket would have done. The grass will need some time to regrow, but the damage is minimal.

Secondly, and more critically, our manual excavation revealed that all the pool pipes—including those for the skimmer, main drain, and water jets—lacked corrugation. Had we used an excavator, we could have caused significant damage to these pipes, risking major setbacks. Without a precise idea of the pipe depths, the excavator might have easily severed them, leading to extensive repairs and delays.

Sure, the work was tough, but the result is a fully functional and enjoyable pool, ready to be used once again. 😊🌞

To illustrate what a kinked skimmer pipe looks like and explain how ground settling can cause such issues, we’ve added some photos to this post.

Thank you for following along on this journey. We are immensely proud of the work we've done, and it's a joy to see the pool restored to its former glory.

Stay tuned for more updates and tips on pool maintenance! 🛠️📸
